Historian-scientists attended in an international symposium held in Izmir

International symposium titled as “Economic and social history of the Republic of Turkey” co-organized by Ataturk Center for Studies and Institute of Ataturk’s principles and Revolution History of the Dokuz Eylul University, was held in Izmir, Turkey.

Our country was represented by Director of the Institute of History, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov, Deputy Director for science of the institute PhD in History Jabi Bahramov, PhDs in History Irada Mammadova, Bakhtiyar Hasanov and Mahir Garibov in the international event.

Azerbaijani historians Jabi Bahramov and Irada Mammadova chaired for separate sections of the symposium.

Reporting both in opening and closing ceremonies of the symposium corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov made speech on economic and social development of the Republic of Turkey, Turkey – Azerbaijan relations during the Liberation War, and development of economic relations between the two countries in the years of independence. He completed his report with President Ilham Aliyev’s words: “Azerbaijan-Turkey relations are unique in over the world”.

Employees of the Institute of History pilgrimaged 94 aged Sattar Bakili who has been taken as a hostage during the World War II and lived in different countries of Europe, then habited in Manisa city of Turkey. Scientists attended the shootings of documentary, filmed by Ictimai TV (ITV) and TRT about S. Bakili as well.

Event attendees visited historical must-sees of Izmir.
