President of ANAS, academician Isa Habibbeyli met with People's Artist of Azerbaijan, chairman of the Union of Artists Farhad Khalilov in the Presidium of ANAS.

The academician said that the scientists and experts of ANAS working in the spheres of history, Middle Eastern studies, archeology, and manuscripts etc., besides their scientific activities, are also engaged in fine art and painting and produce great works of art.

Saying that he takes much interest in art of painting and ANAS devotes special attention to this sphere as well, Isa Habibbeyli, president of ANAS added that the exhibitions dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, Karabakh, Shusha, “Year of Nizami Ganjavi” and in general to 21 themes have been organized in ANAS till today. All works of the scientists that reflect rich spiritual world are published in book forms.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli stressed that he also pays serious attention to art history and writes high-quality articles conducting researches on creativity of the prominent painters of Azerbaijan such as Sattar Bahlulzade, Tahir Salahov, as well as Oskar Shmerling, cartoonist of “Molla Nasreddin” magazine. The academician reminded that he has written an article “Rənglərin və izmlərin qovşağında” («At the nexus of colors and “ism”s») characterizing the activity and style of People's Artist Farhad Khalilov.

The president of ANAS demonstrated the painting dedicated to academician Zarifa Aliyeva and created by the member of the Institute of Manuscripts to the guest.  

People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Farhad Khalilov expressed his gratitude to the president of ANAS for his hospitality and highly appreciated the engagement of the employees of the academy in fine art and mentioned  that he is ready to supply any necessary support. 

Afterwards academician Isa Habibbeyli presented a memorable gift to the guest.

Then academician Isa Habibbeyli and People's Artist of Azerbaijan, Farhad Khalilov viewed the projects, presented for the competition for making new logo (emblem) of ANAS, and shared their thoughts and views about it.

It should be mentioned that Farhad Khalilov People's Artist is a member the Competition Committee of the contest for making new logo (emblem) of ANAS.
