Results of scientific-organizing activity of ANAS Erosion and Irrigation Institute for 2013

Next assembly of scientific council of ANAS Erosion and Irrigation Institute (EII) was held.

Providing information about the EII's scientific - organizational activity for 2013, director, PhD in agricultural sciences Seymur Safarli said that, the institute has continued research works within the frame of “State Program on food privacy of the population in the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2008 - 2015”.

11 scientific works over 2 problems, 8 topics, in 11 phases were completed on study of flora, fauna, soil and water resources biodiversity, conservation and sustainable use of gene pool.

Noted that, 52 scientific works (3 books, 2monographs, 46 papers, and a thesis) have been published. 28 of articles and a thesis were published in abroad, gained a patent. 11 individuals study in intramural doctoral education, and the one defended PhD thesis.

For the first time by means of modern LISEM (Limburg Soil Erosion Model) model, physical model of soil erosion for Mujuchay with 37 kv.km basin located in the eastern part of Ismayilli has been developed, also existing and potential erosion digital maps based on this model have been compiled. Moreover, by using modern technology, actual and potential danger of erosion maps for Agsu district have been developed for the first time.

With the goal of optimizing the activities of erosion prevention on the cavities of the Great Caucasus, soil maps of included areas were digitized by support ofState Land and Cartography Committee.

Corresponding members who participated in the debate - Muharram Babayev, Mahmud Abdullayev, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences Zeynal Akperov, PhD in biology Tubukhanum Gasimzadeh, professor Hamlet Aslanov, PhD in agricultural sciences Sadi Nurullayev, Mirvari Mirmammadova> and others highly appreciated the annual report and recommended suggestions.
