Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Vital steps were taken in implementing signed agreements and in made decisions during fruitful visit of President Ilham Aliyev to the People Republic of China.

Delegation chaired by Vice-President, Academician Isa Habibbayli visited Beijing by invitation of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and was obtained a vital agreement.

Visit aimed to develop Azerbaijan-China ties, and ensure implementing systematic mutual projects on concrete directions.

Academy of Social Sciences is one of the independent institutions of higher scientific research in the People Republic of China since 1977. The world's best-known statesmen and Nobel Prize winners visited the academy, and held meetings. The national leader of the Azerbaijani people, outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev also delivered a speech in front of the scientists of the Academy on March 9, 1994.

Delegation of ANAS held meeting with the officials of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and discussed priorities of the scientific ties of intercountires. A unanimous decision was made on all aspects of “Great Silk Way: history and modernity” problem.

Within the visit, members of Azerbaijan delegation – Vice-Presidents of ANAS Ibrahim Guliyev, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Social Sciences corresponding member of ANAS Nargis Akhundova, director of the Institute of History corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov, Deputy Chief of International Relations Department Zarifa Aliyeva, got acquainted with the structure, activity, experience and reforms of the Academy.

Academician Isa Habibbayli and Vice-President of the Academy of Social Sciences Kai Fanga made speech in the event.

Azerbaijan delegation pilgrimaged Great Wall of China as well.

Signing the agreement of cooperation between two parties was decided to the first term of 2016.
