Azerbaijan National State Academic Drama Theatre hosted a scientific and artistic event dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the first translation and publication of "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" in German on December 22.
The event was organized under the relevant Order of President Ilham Aliyev "On conducting the 200th anniversary of the first translation and publication of "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" in German.
First, participants of the event held under joint organizational support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Baku International Center of multiculturalism and the knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan got acquainted with the exhibition in the foyer of the theater.
At the exhibition were presented publications related to research of "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud", children's drawings related to this epic, as well as published by the Baku international center of multiculturalism languages chapter "Basat kills Tepegoz" into 25 languages, translated into German and printed by outstanding German orientalist, diplomat Heinrich Friedrich von Dietz in 1815.
At the event was shown the fragment of speech of the great leader Heydar Aliyev at a solemn anniversary ceremony on the occasion of the 1300 anniversary of the epos "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud".
Opening the ceremony, State Councilor of the Republic of Azerbaijan on International Affairs, multiculturalism and religion, the chairman of the Board of Trustees Baku International Center of multiculturalism Academician Kamal Abdullayev noted that, the appropriate presidential decree breathed new life into Gorgud study, brought a new spirit and determines the prospects.
The event was attended by scientists Gorgud study from Turkey, Germany, Russia, Iran, Georgia, Italy and other countries. But the work is not completed, the issues arising from this regulation will be studied in the coming decades.
Chairman of Azerbaijan Writers Union, People's Writer Anar, with gratitude speaking about prominent German diplomat and orientalist Heinrich Friedrich von Ditse, noted that " Kitabi-Dede Gorgud " is a monument of uniting the Turkic world.
Nobody can take away from the Azerbaijani people of his love for the "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" is the most grandiose monuments created them in their native language.
Head of the Turkish Linguistic Society Kachalin Mustafa said that this year in Turkey was also held events dedicated Dastan "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud". He stressed the need to bring the epic to the new generations.
Vice-president of ANAS, Director of the Institute of Literature, Academician Isa Habibbeyli touching "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" language, told that the statement and a language system of a dastan are magnificent, as well as work. "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" which is one of the masterpieces, top of folk literature is dastan, which can be proud of the whole Turkic world. 80 percent of the places mentioned in the epic, geographically covering Azerbaijan. Dastan also reflects the foundations of statehood of the Turkic world.
Professor of University of Mainz in Germany Hendrix Boeschoten, who translated the "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" in German and Dutch, General Director of Russian "Hudozhestvennaya Literatura" publishing house, Georgiy Pryakhin and Director of Institute of Oriental Studies of the Georgia National Academy of Sciences, Academician Apollo Silagadze noted that, "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud" which reflects the image of Dede-Gorgud is a symbol of wisdom and it is a universal product which as valuable cultural heritage is a national monument of the Turkic peoples.
At the event was shown a fragment of the speech of President Ilham Aliyev at the opening of "Dede Gorgud" park.
Students of the University of Foreign Languages and Slavic University read passages from Dastan in 11 languages.
At the event aroused great interest the literary and artistic program performed by People's Artist Alim Gasimov, honored artist Mehriban Zeki, Farida Mammadova, beat groups "Savalan" and "Natig" and other artists, as well as fragments from the film "Dede Gorgud".
