During the Vagif Poetry Days, a panel was organized in Shusha with the participation of employees from the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.
The meeting, held in the Bulbul Hall of the Shusha Hotel, featured a discussion titled “Karabakhname of the National Academy of Sciences: Successes and Future Tasks.”
The President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, reported on “Karabakhname of the National Academy of Sciences: Successes and Future Tasks.” It was noted that following the historic Victory under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, in the 44-day Patriotic War, over 30 monographs, books, collections of articles, and conference materials have been published by research institutes within the Humanities and Social Sciences divisions of ANAS. The books and articles of the scientists of the Academy have been published not only in Azerbaijani but also in Turkish, English, Russian, Arabic, German, and Spanish. For the third consecutive year, archaeological excavations have been conducted in the liberated areas of Karabakh by the Institute of Archaeology and Anthropology. Additionally, efforts have been made to restore seismological stations in Karabakh. The Republican Seismic Survey Center of ANAS nearing the completion of the first stage of work at the Shusha-Dashalti Seismological Station.
The head of ANAS evaluated the creation of a comprehensive chronicle of the Karabakh War, as well as deep study of the ethnography, folklore, and toponymy of the liberated settlements, as scientifically essential issues. In the near future, establishing a department or scientific center of the Academy in Karabakh to conduct systematic and comprehensive scientific research was identified as one of the main tasks ahead.
The acting vice-president of ANAS, Academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, director of the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli, Academician Teymur Karimli, senior researcher of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, Doctor of Philological Sciences Esmira Fuad, Doctor of Philological Sciences Elman Guliyev, and others made speeches at the meeting and expressed their opinions during the discussions.
Esmira Fuad, Doctor of Philological Sciences, gave a presentation on the books she has written and published about Karabakh.
