Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

As part of the visit of the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, to Georgia, a memorandum of cooperation between the National Academies of Sciences of both countries was signed.

The memorandum of cooperation was signed by the President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, and the President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Academician Roin Metreveli.

The memorandum reflects significant issues such as conducting joint research that meets the national and state interests of both countries, developing and implementing projects, training and exchanging scientific personnel in necessary specialties, organizing joint scientific conferences and seminars, exchanging scientific publications, and so on.

First, it is decided to hold a scientific conference in Baku and Tbilisi dedicated to the history, traditions, figures, and future of Azerbaijani-Georgian scientific relations, as well as to publish and exchange special issue of the “Reports” journal, dedicated to Azerbaijan and Georgia, which is considered the main scientific journal of the academies. 

At the extended meeting of the Presidium of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, the heads of the departments stated that they support the memorandum of cooperation between the Academies of Azerbaijan and Georgia and the initial action plan.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli also visited Kakheti region together with the scientific delegation headed by the President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Academician Roin Metreveli.
