Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The opening of the Academicians Library and a reading room, which contains the collections preserved at the Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS, was held at CSL of ANAS.

The president of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, acting vice president of ANAS, Academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, and the library's director, docent Huseyn Huseynov participated in the opening ceremony.  

Academician Isa Habibbeyli stated that the Central Scientific Library, which has a rich library collection, preserves over one million three hundred thousand books, including valuable works that could be classified as rare books donated by prominent scientists and their family members. 

Saying that the Academicians Library is organized at ANAS for the first time, the president of ANAS Isa Habibbeyli described this historic event as part of the steps taken towards the renewal of the Academy. He mentioned that the Academicians Library consists of 29 different collections and is one of the rare collections of the Central Scientific Library.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli stated that this rich library is open to a wide readership and emphasized that everyone can make use of the books.

In turn, the director of the Central Scientific Library, docent Huseyn Huseynov gave information about the collections, which are considered valuable resources for researchers and wide readership. It was noted that users of the Central Scientific Library will now be able to access these publications in more accessible and convenient manner.

Following this, the participants toured the Academicians Library and the reading room, and photographs were taken for memories.
