Scientists of the Institute of Information Technology again included in Stanford University ranking list in the field of AI

In September 2024, Stanford University once again presented its ranking list of the world’s top 2 % scientists. Starting from 2019, Stanford University annually compiles a ranking of the world's most influential scientists in various fields of science based on the previous year's comprehensive analysis of data from the Elsevier's Scopus database. The ranking is compiled through a multi-criteria assessment, taking into account numerous scientometric indicators.

The director general of the Institute of Information Technology, Academician Rasim Aliguliyev has once again been included in this year's list. It should be noted that starting from 2020 Academician Rasim Aliguliyev has appeared in this ranking for the fifth consecutive year. He was selected from among 399,064 scientists conducting research in the field of artificial intelligence and whose articles are indexed in the Scopus database from all countries around the world. It is important to mention that the greatest competition has been in the field of AI compared to other scientific areas.

Stanford University presents a second ranking list, known as the “career-long impact” list, each year using the same methodology but covering a longer period. While the first list is prepared based on a researcher’s scientific results for the reporting year (i.e., 2023), the “career-long impact” list is based on the scientific activities of researcher from 1996 to the reporting year (1996-2023). The head of the department of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Ramiz Aliguliyev has been included in the 2024 ranking list for “career-long impact” in the field of artificial intelligence. He also was selected from among 399,064 scientists. It should be noted that Ramiz Aliguliyev was included in the ranking of the top 2% of scientists in the field of AI from 2020 to 2023.
