Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The opening ceremony of the 10th Baku international Book Fair was held at the Baku Expo Center with the organization of the Ministry of Culture, on October 2. The Fair is dedicated to the 530th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani poet and thinker Muhammad Fuzuli (1494-1556).

The opening ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture Adil Karimli, vice-speaker of the Milli Majlis, Academician Rafael Huseynov, president of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, chairman of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, People's writer Anar, members of parliament, renowned figures from culture, science, and literature, as well as other distinguished guests.

The event began with a cultural performance. 

In his opening speech, People's writer Anar said that the traditional Book Fair is a great celebration for book lovers and emphasized the significance of book culture for every country and nation.

Afterward, the guests toured the exhibition.

President of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Academician Isa Habibbeyli gave an interview to journalists at the fair. He underlined that the Academy’s scientific institutions and organizations were also participating in the 10th Baku International Book Fair. He highlighted the significance of the event in promoting the science and culture of the country.

It should be noted that, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences is represented at the 10th Baku International Book Fair with its own stand and publications. During the six-day exhibition, the Academy’s scientific institutions and organizations will present their scientific works published this year, particularly books and monographs published within the “530th anniversary of Muhammad Fuzuli” as well as publications, multi-volume works and scientific journals on the history of Garabagh and Irevan to visitors at the Academy’s stand.
