Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Professor Li Lei, member of the Executive Council of the Hong Kong Core Academy of the People’s Republic of China, Executive (Vice) Secretariat-General Professor Raymond J. Wu and the Academy’s scientific staff members Feng Liu and Yan Zheng, who are on a visit to our country, visited the Military Trophy Park together with the employees from ANAS. 

The Chinese scientists were widely informed about the historic Victory, achieved under the leadership of the victorious Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, during the 44-day Patriotic War. The guests were familiarized with numerous samples of military equipment and ammunition seized from the Armenian occupiers.

Later, the guests visited the Gobustan National Historical-Artistic Preserve, accompanied by the employees of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. Here, the Chinese scholars were informed that the Preserve contains over 6,000 rock carvings and more than 100,000 archaeological materials are stored in various collections of the preserve. 

It was also said that the Preserve was included in UNESCO's World Heritage List in 2007.

The Chinese scholars expressed their satisfaction with the trip, after becoming familiar with samples of Azerbaijan’s ancient material culture, rock paintings, and archaeological finds.
