Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

As you know, the year 2016 in Azerbaijan declared the "Year of multiculturalism." Disposal signed by Ilham Aliyev put important tasks in front of the various scientific and pedagogical, socio-political organizations of the republic, including Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences.

On January 27, in the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS, State Advisor of the Republic of Azerbaijan on international, multiculturalism and religious affairs, Academician Kamal Abdullayev made a speech on the theme "Scientific-theoretical foundations of multiculturalism and its development prospects in the realities of Azerbaijan."

Kamal Abdullayev spoke of the indispensable role of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of multiculturalism. Having said that, "National leader Heydar Aliyev is the founder of the Azerbaijani policy of multiculturalism", he noted that Heydar Aliyev has developed over centuries of tradition of multiculturalism of Azerbaijan and raised it to a new level.

Multiculturalism has become one of the main areas of public policy and a successful policy is being carried out in this area. Expressing note of state head Ilham Aliyev "Multiculturalism for centuries has been a feature of the Azerbaijani people", which creates enough of a reason for a scientifically study of multiculturalism in Azerbaijan, Kamal Abdullayev spoke about the done work in this area. He reported on the works "literary and artistic roots of Azerbaijani multiculturalism", "Scientific and philosophical and journalistic sources Azerbaijan multiculturalism" and "political and legal sources of Azerbaijani multiculturalism co-prepared by Baku International Center of Multiculturalism and ANAS.

Speaking of the areas that form the basis multicultural security, the reporter noted that in addition to its energy, economic and national security of each country should ensure its multicultural safety. "The overall essence of multicultural security consists of preserving cultural values of all peoples, ethnic groups, regardless of their ethnic, religious, racial and cultural identities." Academician noted that the basic principles of multiculturalism are: uniform distribution of political attitude towards the various religions in the country, taking care of the state preservation of the national diversity in the country, the protection of cultural property of all living peoples and ethnic groups in the country with the support of the state and society.

Presidium of ANAS made decision on establishing Inter-institutional Research Virtual Center for Multiculturalism, organizing a lecture on the topic "Models of the world of multiculturalism joint with Baku International Center of Multiculturalism and Knowledge Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, developing “Encyclopedia of Multiculturalism", including giving topics on multiculturalism to the staff who engaged in PhD and doctoral in the academy.
