The report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Division of Chemical Sciences of ANAS for 2024 was presented at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS. The report was delivered by the Vice President of ANAS, the Chairman of the Scientific Council of the division, Academician Dilgam Taghiyev.
Academician Dilgam Taghiyev mentioned that in 2024, 113 research works were conducted on 41 topics related to 12 issues in the scientific institutions under the Division of Chemical Sciences of ANAS, with 139 stages. Additionally, 2 topics, 58 works, and 139 stages were completed, and 6 of these research works have been applied.
He also added that significant scientific results were achieved by the employees of the division during the reporting year.
Providing information about the publication activities of the scientific institutions under the division, Academician Dilgam Taghiyev said that in 2024, 9 books, 16 monographs (3 of them abroad), 435 articles (229 abroad), 677 theses (208 abroad), 5 textbooks, and science books of the employees of the division were published. Of these articles, 283 were published in impact factor journals included in the “Web of Science” and “Scopus” databases, and the works of the scientists were cited 5,720 times. The scientific institutions under the division submitted 51 patent applications, with 33 patents received in the republic and 2 abroad.
He also presented the scientometric indicators of the employees of the division, provided information on staff potential and training, steps taken to strengthen the integration of science and education, the popularization of science, the scientific journals of the division, international cooperation, and awards.
Then, Academician Adil Garibov, advisor to ANAS, Academician Vagif Abbasov, the general director of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes and Academician Abel Maharramov, head of the department at Baku State University, made speeches regarding the report and highly evaluated the activities of the division in 2024.
After the discussions, Elmir Babayev, PhD in Chemistry and Chairman of the Young Scientists and Specialists Council of ANAS, announced the decision of the Presidium of ANAS. The decision stated that the report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activities of the Division of Chemical Sciences for 2024 was considered satisfactory, and it was decided to include the significant results in annual report of ANAS. The division was also given relevant tasks.
