The report of the “Elm” ("Science") publishing house for 2024 was presented at the meeting of the Presidium of ANAS.

The report was delivered by the Director of the “Elm” publishing house, PhD in Philology, Sabuhi Gahramanov.

Sabuhi Gahramanov said that in 2024 the “Elm” publishing house carried out the relevant tasks based on the decrees and orders of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the decisions of the Presidium of ANAS and the orders of the President of ANAS.

He underlined that within the framework of the “Green World Solidarity Year”, the “Elm” publishing house released the monograph “Vegetation of Azerbaijan”, the bibliographic index “Ecology of Azerbaijan”, the books “Global Ecological Problems”, “Ecoethics Problems of Azerbaijan: Scientific, Legal, Moral Aspects”, the materials of the international conference “Heydar Aliyev and the Development of Modern Biological Science: Achievements and Challenges” and so on.

In connection with the 530th anniversary of Mahammad Fuzuli, the monographs “Great Azerbaijani Poet Fuzuli”, “The Mastery of Fuzuli” and “Poetic Heritage of Fuzuli in Arabic” as well as the theses of the international scientific conference titled “The Great Azerbaijani poet Mahammad Fuzuli as a representative of the Common Muslim Culture” were published.

Additionally, bibliographic indexes of the active and corresponding members of ANAS, who made significant contributions to the development of Azerbaijani science, were published as part of the “Figures of Science and Culture of Azerbaijan” series.

Among the multi-volume works, the books “Western Azerbaijani Folklore, Volume III” and “The Philosophy of Reforms in the Social and Moral Life of Society (Volumes 15-16)” were published.

At the same time, the monographs titled “The Book of Dada Gorgud”: From Heydar Aliyev to Ilham Aliyev”, “Great Political Path of Heydar Aliyev”, “The Creative Path of Gasim Gasimzade”, “Mir Mohsun Navvab”, “Buildings That Speak History”, “The National Researcher of Kirkuk, Ata Terzibashi”, and others were published in the “Elm” publishing house during the reporting year.

Sabuhi Gahramanov mentioned that in the reporting year, significant publications for the Azerbaijani scientific community, such as “Azerbaijan Journal of Mathematics”, “Azerbaijan Chemical Journal”, “Philology and Art Studies”, “Life Sciences and Biomedicine” and other scientific journals, which are included in international databases such as Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, EBSCO, COPERNICUS, AGRIS, Asos index, etc., were also published in the “Elm” publishing house. 

He added that the “Elm” publishing house was also represented at the 3rd Turkic World Literature and Book Festival (III LitBookFest), held in Baku, as well as at the 10th Baku International Book Fair, and that the employees of the publishing house were awarded at several events throughout the year.

Sabuhi Gahramanov said that the publishing house continued its activities in the field of international cooperation in 2024. He noted that the “Elm” publishing house expanded its cooperation relations with the Scientific Council on Book Publishing and Book Culture of the Association of International Academies of Sciences, the European Association of Science Editors, the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the EBSCO database of the United States, as well as with AVES Publishing and “Elsevier”.

In addition, he underlined that thanks to the attention and care shown by the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, the publishing activities at the Academy were brought up to modern standards, and the material and technical base of the “Elm” publishing house was improved. 

The President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli highly evaluated the activities of the “Elm” publishing house in 2024 and provided a number of instructions.

Later, the report of the “Elm” publishing house on the scientific and organizational activities for 2024 was rated satisfactory, and it was decided to include the important results in the annual report of ANAS.
