With the purpose to inform the public about the book bulks stored to the Rare book fund of Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS, patterns of historian-scientist Eugene Pakhomov’s personal library were presented.

Personal book bulk by researcher, numismatic-scientist, archeologist, Dr. History Eugene Pakhomov is among the huge book bulks of the library for number of embraced sources.

Associate of the Rare book fund Gulara Khalafova spoke about contributions of Y.Pakhomov, one of the celebrate scientists in the Eastern numismatics, in archeology science and informed on his book bulk. So far, over 100 scientific works of scientists have been published and majority of them positioned in a bulk. His greatest contribution in history science is a book dubbed “Coin treasure of Azerbaijan and other republics and regions of the Caucasus", which worked over for many years. In addition of precious materials on the ancient world history, Y.Pakhomov’s bulk is rich of documents reflecting histories of Greece, Rome, Egypt and Assyria, she stated.

Gulnara Khalafova noted the names of works on description of Caucasus from work catalog of scientist, such as some volumes of "Collection of materials on the description of Caucasian territories and peoples”, "Materials for study of Caucasian farmers’ welfare”, "Caucasian calendars," “Collections of the Caucasus”, “Collections of Dagestan," "View over lands in Dagestan owned by Russia”, "Data collection about the Caucasian mountaineers", "Collection of statistical data about the Caucasus". Bulk compiles books of "Description of Byzantine seals”, "Russian heraldry" about rare areas of history science like heraldry and sphragistics as well as gives references on humanities, nature and earth sciences, G.Khalafova added.

Chief department of Fund formation Sharafat Ismayilova stressed the importance of these bulks in terms of researching Azerbaijan history and put forward her proposals in protection of the books. Also she put to the fore the necessity of creating Restoration Center to the library due to deliver the old books to the future generations.
