ANAS Central Scientific Library hosted the regular meeting of ANAS  Council of Joint  Veterans.

Opening the event, Deputy Chairman of the Board, Head of II Special Department Eldar Guliyev congratulated the veterans and participants of the event with the holiday and wished them further success. E.Guliyev told about the performed works and the forthcoming problems, stimulating of veterans-activists works of ANAS Council of Joint Veterans according to the recommendations specified in the Charter of AR Council of Veterans, assistance to the needing veterans, improvement of activity of Councils of Veterans. Then, Chairman of the Council of Joint Veterans, ANAS corresponding member Rafig Gasimov spoke about care and attention, which are supported by government to scientists-veterans. 

Also, highly appreciated youth policy carried out by the Academy, Chairman of the Board said that, veterans always support the activities of ANAS management.

At the event, Chairman of the Joint Trade Union Committee of ANAS, Doctor of Economy Isa Aliyev spoke about works started in the current year, aimed to improving the social status and working conditions of older scientists. The Chairman noted that, the works are carried out in order to provide low-income veterans, workers in scientific institutions of ANAS allowances and other preferential services, as well as the preparation of new recreational centers for their treatment in sanatoriums and rest.

I.Aliyev noted that, will be established award "Best veteran scholar of the year" at ANAS. In the summer of the current year is planned to hold a competition for this award. Chairman of the Joint Trade Union Committee also added that, will be held the poetry competition among veterans.

Then, they discussed issues on improvement of living conditions and labor of veterans in 2016, providing them with the benefits, as well as attracting veteran scientists in grant projects, etc.

Offers of veterans were listened at the event, responded their questions.

In conclusion, veterans were donated the permits for rest and treatment.
