Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Central Scientific Library launched “Yurdum Azerbaycanim (My native land Azerbaijan) musical event by “Akademkitab” LLC.

Event to run until 18 March has organized on the occasion of opening of the book shop.

Director of “Akademkitab” Aliaga Jafarli noted that, event aims to promote book shot to the public and informed on the establishment of it. The historical roots dating back to the establishment of "Nauka" organization attached to Academy of Sciences SSR in 1956, Akademkitab has been one of 5 book trade representatives in Azerbaijan.

The event discussed the problems. It was noted that the House of Scientists will conduct meetings with prominent state and public figures, to establish business relations with NGOs and trade union organizations, creative unions, organize ANAS pavilion at the exhibition of science and technology, and create the conditions for discussion and exchange of information on the events taking place in scientific and public life of the country and the world, stated President of ANAS Academician Akif Alizadeh.

It was also noted that in order to meet the needs of researchers and their families in cultural holiday named organization will carry out such cultural events as concerts, performances, exhibitions, film screenings, etc. In order to raise the profile of science and increase the younger generation's interest in science provided the holding of various scientific competitions, quizzes, competitions, contests, debates, festivals and lectures in the House of Scientists.

Attended the event Emeritus Professor at University of Maryland U.S., director of East-West Aerospace Scientific Center, Dr. Chemistry at Russian Academy of Sciences Roald Sagdeev congratulated ANAS employees with the opening of the House of Scientists and expressed his confidence that the organization will promote close communication among scientist.

Then Academician made a popular science presentation.

The event continued artistic and concert program.
