After a minute of silence for the martyrs, Chairman of Nakhchivan Department, Academician Ismayil Hajiyev gave detailed information about genocide policy by Armenia against our people, our compatriots’ ruthlessly murder, repression and deportation, ethnic cleansing and the occupation of our territories.

He noted that, as result of implemented ethnic cleansing and genocide against Azerbaijanis, our people have suffered hardships.

With creation of "Great Armenia" illusion in many regions of Azerbaijan and also in Baku were made unfrequented slaughters and robberies by Armenians.

Among 30 March and 3 April, 1918 in Baku and different regions of the province, as well as in Shamakhi, Guba, Khachmaz, Lankaran, Karabakh, Nakhchivan and in other areas were committed genocide against Azerbaijanis by Dashnak Armenian armed forces and was opened the bloody pages in the history of Azerbaijan.

Note that, for a long time this bitter truth has not been delivered to the world public and Armenian violence was not estimated legally. Only after national leader Heydar Aliyev’s return to the power this issue was approached principally, essence of yearly massacre against out people by Armenian chauvinists has been clarified and exposed. Under Decree of national leader Heydar Aliyev “On the genocide of Azerbaijanis” dated March 26, 1998, severe tragedy committed against our nation has been politically-legally estimated.

Academician I. Hajiyev stated that, employees of the department were charged relevant tasks in delivering Azerbaijan truths to the world, including further generations. Studies must be enhanced, as well as monographs, books have to published in this field, documentaries have to prepared meanwhile promotion should be held via Internet, he added.

Prof. Emin Shikhaliyev delivered a lecture on “The essence of genocides committed against Azerbaijanis in the XX century”, corresponding member of ANAS Aliaddin Abbasov “In the grip of great geopolicy”, Dr. Agrarian sciences, Assoc. Prof. Varis Guliyev “Genocide is national tragedy”, Ph.D. in physics-math Assoc. Prof. Gulu Haziyev “Backstage aspects of the March genocide”, Ph.D. in philology, Assoc. Prof. Firudin Rzayev “Genocide against national toponyms in the XIX-XX centuries”.

In closing, video slide “March 31 – Genocide of Azerbaijanis” reflecting Armenian violence was displayed.
