The names of scientists, granted nominal prizes of ANAS, bearing the names of outstanding scientists were announced.

In his speech at today's meeting of the Presidium Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Academician Rasim Alguliyev recalled that the competition for nominal prizes of ANAS Presidium decree was announced on February 17, 2016. Representations of the scientists involved in the competition, and the relevant documents were presented to the Expert Committee. Prepared by the Commission appropriate reviews of nominees for nominal prizes of ANAS were presented to the Presidium. Taking into account the results of the competition were adopted appropriate resolutions at the meeting.

So, it was decided to award Academician Firudin Mammadali oglu Hashimzadeh the Prize of ANAS on behalf Nasiraddin Tusi for his chain works on calculation of the band structure and spectra of fluctuations in semiconductors, including creating a theory of narrow-band semiconductors with a spectrum Kane, Academician Siddige Rza gizi Mammadova was awarded the Prize of ANAS on behalf of Hasan bey Zardabi for her chain works on plant protection and research of plant diseases, Professor Firangiz Aliaga gizi Alizadeh was awarded the Prize of ANAS on behalf of Academician Uzeyir Hajibeyli for her services in the investigation of the musical heritage of outstanding Azerbaijani composer Gara Garayev, Academician Adila Avaz gizi Namazova was awarded the Prize of Academician Mirasadulla Mirgasimov for her studies on dissemination of diseases of the cardiovascular system in infants and children in Azerbaijan identifying their clinical features, systematic application of therapeutic and surgical treatment.

For merits in the field of composition and properties of oil produced in the oil and gas fields of Azerbaijan, research and application in the production of high-quality base oils corresponding member of ANAS Fazil Ibrahim gizi Samadova was awarded the Prize of ANAS on behalf of Academician Yusif Mammadaliyev, for obtained fundamental results in the study of the deep structure earth's crust on the territory of Azerbaijan by geophysical methods Academician Parviz Ziya oglu Mammadov was awarded the Prize of ANAS on behalf of Academician Musa Aliyev, while for his merits in the field of research the history of Azerbaijani statehood and revealing the true facts against Armenian falsification, Yagub Mikayil oglu Makhmudov was granted the Prize of ANAS on behalf of Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov.

Note that each nominee who is awarded a nominal award of ANAS, will be awarded a cash prize of 5 thousand manats.
