Collection of Articles Titled “Central Asian Countries: Prospects, Challenges and Reality” Published at the Institute of Oriental Studies

A collection of articles titled “Страны Центральной Азии: перспективы, вызовы и реальность” (“Central Asian Countries: Prospects, Challenges and Reality”) has been published as a joint edition of the Institute of Oriental Studies named after Academician Ziya Bunyadov of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the “East–West” International Center for Geopolitical Forecasting of Kazakhstan, and the Astana Association of Political Studies.

The collection, published by the decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Oriental Studies, is dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the institute’s Department of Central Asian Countries.

The volume includes articles by scholars from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Georgia. The collection examines globalization processes in the modern world, the necessity of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the countries of Central Asia, as well as the essence and theoretical foundations of intercultural dialogue from the perspective of universal values. It presents studies devoted to the interaction between Azerbaijani and Asian cultures, the integration of civilizations, and contemporary challenges.

The publication also features research on issues of multiculturalism, trends in the development of international relations with Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, as well as the role of preserving the cultural heritage of Muslim peoples.

Among the contributions included in the collection are the following: “Global Climate Change Issues in Kazakhstan and the Role of COP-29 in the Development of International Relations” by Academician Karlygash Nugmanova, President of the “East–West” International Center for Geopolitical Forecasting of Kazakhstan and Director of the Astana Association of Political Studies; “The Formation of Civic Identity in a Multi-Ethnic Kyrgyz Society” by Baktykan Torogeldiyeva, Professor and Doctor of Political Sciences at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic; “Comparative Analysis of Migration Policies in Central Asian Countries: Mechanisms for Protecting the Rights of Labor Migrants” by Elmira Kagazbayeva, Professor and Candidate of Political Sciences at the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages; “Intercultural Dialogue as the Basis for the Formation of Students’ Intercultural Competence” by Indira Dzagania, Head of the International Department of Sokhumi State University of Georgia; “Assessment of the U.S. Economic Strategy in Central Asia and New Tasks for Developing Cooperation with Russia and China, and U.S. Geopolitical Interests” by Vladimir Paramonov, Head of Department and Doctor of Political Sciences at the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan; “The Central Asian Vector in Russia’s Geostrategic Policy at the Present Stage” by Adil Mirabdullayev, Chief Researcher and Doctor of Political Sciences at the Institute of Oriental Studies of ANAS; and “Personality, Society and the Socio-Political Environment in the Novels of Chingiz Aitmatov” by Lala Ahmadova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor and Head of the Department of Central Asian Countries at the Institute of Oriental Studies of ANAS, along with other articles.
