Presentation of M.Faragi’s “Divan”, translated into Azerbaijani, in ANAS

On April 28, Central Scientific Library of ANAS held presentation ceremony of great Turkmen poet Mahtimgulu Faragi’s “Divan”, translated into Azerbaijani.

Opening the event, President of ANAS Academician Akif Alizadeh made speech on historical good neighborhood and friendship links between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, which had launched even in Societ Society.

Then, the president submitted Faragi’s “Divan”, which translated into Azerbaijani, to the President of Turkmenistan AS corresponding member Meret Ashirbayev.

In his turn, M.Ashirbayev donated various memorial gifts to the president, including academicians Isa Habibbeyli and Teymur Karimli.

President of Turkmenistan AS Meret Ashirbeyov highly appreciated respect and love of Azerbaijan people to classic Turkmen poet M. Faragi. Scientist stated that, publication of “Divan” is one of the remarkable events that had taken in direction of developing cultural-literary ties between both countries.Vice-President of ANAS director of the Institute of Literature Academician Isa Habibbeyli reported at the event and noted that book covers poems of “Divan”, which belongs to one of the prominent representatives of world literature M. Faragi and newly revealed in Baku.

Vice-president of ANAS, director of Institute of the Literature named after Nizami, Academician Isa Habibbeyli in his speech noted that, the book contains newly found in Baku poems from "Divan", one of the outstanding representatives of the world literature, great poet of the Turkmen people Mahtumgulu Faragi.

According to Isa Habibbeyli, many poems from "Divan", published in 1914 in Bukhara by engraving method, differ from poems published in past, and are the more appropriate version.

And some of these poems don't occur in other books of the great master published still at all. Makhtumkuli Fragi's poms of religious contents which publication wasn't possible during the Soviet period have also found the reflection in recently found "Dvan".

National solidarity ideas of Mahtumgulu Faragi sheds light on further strengthen the unity, solidarity, friendship and mutual trust in the world and among the Turkic peoples.

The next speaker was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Azerbaijan Toyli Kumekov.

The Ambassador also expressed his confidence that, as in other areas in the field of scientific cooperation important results will be achieved between the two countries. Noted that, the meeting of presidents of 2 countries will give a positive impetus to the further strengthening of cooperation in the future both in the bilateral format and within international events.

Acted at the event, Deputy Director of the Institute of Manuscripts of the Turkmenistan AS Rahmanberdi Godarov, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Humanitarian Sciences, Director of the Institute of Manuscripts, Academician Teymur Karimli, Deputy Director of the Institute of Literature, Doctor of Philology Mammad Aliyev, Deputy Director of the Institute of Manuscripts, Doctor of Philology Pasha Karimov, employeeof the Institute of Literature Ismikhan Osmanli and others spoke about the importance of the publication.

They noted that, the publication of this work in the Azerbaijani language in Baku is another contribution of Azerbaijani scientists for creativity of a prominent man-of-letter.
