Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On May 4, at the electron conference hall of the Institute of Literature on behalf Nizami was held republican conference “Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan Art” devoted to the 93rd anniversary of national leader and co-organized by Azerbaijan State Art Gallery and ANAS Institute of Architecture and Art.

In advance, attendees got acquainted with exhibition composed of portraits of Heydar Aliyev, drawn by various artists.

Vice-President of ANAS director of the Institute of Literature Academician Isa Habibbayli stated that, chain of meetings dedicated to the great leader’s anniversary were held in the republic, abroad and in ANAS. Different seminars and conferences that carried out in ANAS mainstreamed the key goal of the national leader – idea of Azerbaijanism. He noted that today’s conference is also consistent part of these events and dedicated to the leader’s ties with art and culture.

Academician Isa Habibbeyli spoke about national leader Heydar Aliyev’s exceptional merits and his great respect to art figures. Representatives of culture and art were regularly granted to honorary titles and highest awards by national leader.

It was highlighted that, national leader was addicted to culture and art of Azerbaijan. Celebrate artists, sculptors, architects and talented carpet masters were dominated among the craftsmen, who appreciated by the national leader.

Vice-President of ANAS stated that, national leader Heydar Aliyev’s portrait has been elaborated with oil paint and graphics, in different artistic techniques and styles. Magnificent drawings by Tahir Salahov, Omar Eldarov, Ogtary Sadigzadeh, Kamil Aliyev, Eldar Mikayilzadeh and others have been memorized.

Rector of Azerbaijan State Art Academy Academician Omar Eldarov shared his memories about national leader and made speech on his care and attention to art representatives.

At the event, following lectures were listened: “Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan Art”, “Image of Heydar Aliyev in painting legacy of Tahir Salahov”, “National leader Heydar Aliyev’s image in carpets”, “A great friend of artists”, “Image of Heydar Aliyev in modern Azerbaijan painting”, “National leader Heydar Aliyev’s image in sculptor Omar Eldarov’s creativity” etc.
