Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On May 4, Military Academy of Armed Forces has carried out scientific-conference “Military history in Heydar Aliyev’s heritage”. Conference devoted to the 93rd anniversary of national leader has been organized in accordance with “Action Plan of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2016” approved by Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov.

Conference was attended by governmental officials, MPs of Milli Majlis, representatives of the highest schools, including special military educational institutions, over 350 envoys from offices and scientific centers.

In advance, national leader Heydar Aliyev and our fellows, who were martyred for freedom of lands, were commemorated for a minute of silence and sounded National Anthem.

Opening his speech with congratulatory words Minister of Defense General-Colonel Zakir Hasanov stressed out that, National Armed Forces has been founded by national leader. Thanks to care and attention of Supreme Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev today our army is the strongest one in the region. Making speech on topical problems and development trends of military history Zakir Hasanov wished successes to the attendees.

After displaying the film “Military history in Heydar Aliyev’s heritage”, President of ANAS Akif Alizadeh spoke about exceptional merits of Heydar Aliyev in army-building of Azerbaijan.

Later on, head of Military Academy of the Armed Forces General-Lieutenant Heydar Piriyev, Deputy Head of Social-Political Issues Department of Presidential Administration Arastun Mehdiyev, director of National Museum of Azerbaijan History Academician Naila Valikhanli and head Department of Moral-Physiological Training and Public Relations under Ministry of Defense General-Major Rasim Aliyev delivered lectures.

After lectures, an appeal on behalf of conference attendees to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Supreme Commander-in-Chief President Ilham Aliyev, was received.

At the end of plenary session of the conference memorandum of cooperation was signed between Military Academy of the Armed Forces and ANAS National Museum of Azerbaijan History.

After plenary, conference has continued its work in lecture and discussions on topic “Heydar Aliyev and key directions of the military history in Azerbaijan”.

Speeches, including over 25 articles, entered the Organizing Committee of the conference, will be published in different journals.
