Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On May 6, at the Institute of Oriental Studies after Academician Ziya Bunyadov of ANAS was celebrated the 93rd anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Speaking at the event director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Deputy Govhar Bakhshaliyeva told about the merits of the national leader in the development of statehood and independence of the Azerbaijani people: "Restoration of Azerbaijan's independence, the establishment of political stability in our country, the emergence and development of the Azerbaijani ideology, integration of our country into the world community, high economic development are associated with the name of Heydar Aliyev".

Spoke about the done works by the great leader during managing our republic in the Soviet period, G.Bakhshaliyeva noted that, thanks to the wise and successful domestic and foreign policy, carried by him after his return to power in the difficult early years of independence, all the difficulties in the country have been overcome, as a result that, was laid the groundwork of a secular, legal and democratic state.

G.Bakhshaliyeva noted that, Heydar Aliyev paid much attention to all spheres of life in the country, in particular, science. She reminded that, the national leader carried out the first meeting after return to the power in 1993 with representatives of the intellectuals of the country in ANAS.

During the meeting, Heydar Aliyev noted: "The Academy of Sciences - a national treasure, created by a number of generations of the Azerbaijani people, and our task - to keep it". Noted that leadership skills of Heydar Aliyev are accepted on a global scale, Govhar Bakhshaliyeva stressed that, currently President Ilham Aliyev continues his policy worthily.

Next, speakers: members of the Institute - Doctor of Philological Science Vilayat Jafarov, PhD in philology Laura Orujova, PhD in philology Gasimli Amir and others spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s merits in the development of sovereign Azerbaijan.

They also gave detailed information on the achievements in the country after the arrival of the national leader to power in 1969. They pointed out that, Heydar Aliyev is the architect of our statehood, a guarantor of stability in the country and the name of the unforgettable head forever has entered the history.
