Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS held 70th training of Heydar Aliyev’s Lecture devoted to national leader’s 93rd anniversary.

Opening the event, director of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archaeology, corresponding member of ANAS Fakhraddin Safarli spoke about genius leader’s undeniable merits before Azerbaijan people and state as well as honorable and meaningful way of life. Works which had been implemented for sake of protection of national-moral interests of Azerbaijan, its geographical integrity, historical memory, national ideology during extremely hard and difficult times, are consistent part of great leader’s varied activity carried out for removal and survive of statehood. National leader always cared for future of his people. He has exactly defined idea principles and strategic development directions of this state, was noted.

As a result of decisive policy of a worthy successor of national leader – President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan statehood has even strengthened.

It was noted that the current development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is obliged to national leader Heydar Aliyev. In the past, the wise decisions of the national leader Heydar Aliyev in Nakhchivan, its life has entered a new period of comparison. As a result of economic reforms carried out within a short period, macroeconomic stability in the region was formed, living standards have improved significantly.

At the event, chairman of Nakhchivan Branch Academician Ismayil Hajiyev delivered a lecture on “Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijan independence”.

Azerbaijan restored its state independence at the end of the last century, but faced with great difficulties. Independence way of great leader that has started in Nakhchivan in 1990-1993 pawed the way to step towards the restoration of national statehood by shifting a leading force. Under initiative and leadership of outstanding leader, decisions taken in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic occupy a vital place in the history of Azerbaijan statehood that paths to independence, stated Ismayil Hajiyev.

In June 1993, at the request of the people national leader Heydar Aliyev returned to power for a second time, thanks to his determination and courage the country has rescued from dismemberment and destruction. Thanks to his genius power the political and national-ideological unity was laid in Azerbaijan, statehood traditions were shifted into national cognition.
