Monograph “Ecomorphological danger and risk in the Great Caucasus”, co-authored by Deputy Director of Science of the Institute of Geography corresponding member of ANAS Elbrus Alizadeh and leading fellow of this venture Dr. Geography Stara Tarikhazer, was a winner of “Crystal compass” competition, organized by Russian Geographycal Society (RGS) in nomination of academic achievement.
Awarding ceremony was held on May 13 in Krasnodar city, Russian Federation.
Chairman of the Board of Trustees at the competition was President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, while president was Minister of Defence Sergei Shoygu.
Note that, Organizing Committee of competition “Crystal Compass”, annually organized by Russia since 2012 with the purpose of protecting and promoting geography, ecology, natural and cultural heritage, was included 315 projects from Russia, including Azerbaijan, the USA, China, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Poland, Lithuania, Serbia and Mongolia, while 33 of them passed expertise council and were finalists in 11 nominations.
Azerbaijani scientists for the first time attended such a solemn competition of the RGS.
