Production of lubricant oils in general is considered one of the most important areas in the oil-processing, petrochemical industry. In our republic this area has big historical traditions.

Even during the Soviet regime in the 30-ies of the last century - in spite of the great difficulties from abroad advanced at the time of atmospheric-vacuum equipment was delivered, which was installed at the plant after Japaridze.

After that, the plant began producing high-quality oil for cars and aircraft. These oils with fuels for aviation and tanks played a crucial role in the achievement of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

In subsequent years, Soviet government despite holding serious work on the modernization of plants in the factories of our republic not had been observed strong progress in the field of lubricants.

For many years, scientists from the Institute of Chemistry of Additives of ANAS has developed production technology and formulation of a number of lubricants based on oil distillates received from the Azerbaijani oil.

Exactly for these oils were created effective filler compositions. However, according to various objective and subjective reasons, this question could not find its wide solution.

In recent years by the initiative of a management of ANAS and thanks to a financial support of Science Development Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan at ANAS Experimental and Industrial Plant has been created the modern laboratory meeting the European and international standards–the pilot complex equipped with the production installations allowing to make lubricants in limited quantity.

According to the Chief Technologist of Experimental and Industrial Plant Adil Agayev, samples of products were showcased in the exhibition halls, organized recently in our country by various foundations and organizations. Demonstrated oil samples aroused great interest, has been provided relevant information by means of public mass media.

Already in industrial areas of the plant through the joint work of scientists of the Institute of Petrochemical Processes, Institute of Chemistry of Additives and specialists of the plant was mastered the production technology meeting modern requirements of dozens of types of lubricants of strategic importance, prepared the necessary legal and technical documents (specifications, technological regulations, instructions, certificates of conformity), instructed the working and technical staff.

By approximate calculations, annually in Azerbaijan the 80th thousand tons of greases from which nearly a half falls to the share of automobile oils are consumed.

By order of leadership of ANAS, the company's experts together with scientists from the Institute of Petrochemical Processes, Institute of Chemistry of Additives is currently engaged in development of lubrication technology on the basis of local raw materials and the preparation of regulatory and technical documents.

With great confidence we can say that if will be provided the relevant government structures organizational and financial support ANAS Experimental and Industrial Plant in the next few years can take on the production of about 50% consumed lubricants in the country.

For this purpose the plant has all the necessary infrastructure, engineering and technical personnel and scientific potential branch of ANAS institutes.
