Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

ANAS Institute of History of Science held a meeting with the European Azerbaijanis Congress Samira Patzer Ismailova on June 7.

First director of the Institute, Doctor of History Sciences Maryam Seyidbeyli, welcomed the guests and noted that, she was glad to see her in headed by her scientific institution.

Director of the Institute informed the guests about carried out in recent years in the Academy of projects and ongoing research.

Then S.Patzer Ismailova in her speech brought to the attention that, in recent years the role of the Azerbaijani diaspora is increasing in Europe.

She reminded speech of AR President Ilham Aliyev at the official opening ceremony of the IV Congress of World Azerbaijanis, held on 3 June this year: "In the words of the President, due diaspora organizations of Azerbaijan with the state bodies should be permanent and strong. At the same time it must be forged strong ties between the embassies and diaspora organizations".

Stressing the high attention paid to the development of science and culture in Europe, the guest spoke about the meetings held in Germany under the leadership of President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh in 2014.

She noted that, at these meetings were discussed possibilities of cooperation between German scientists and scientific representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora.

Speaking of lobbying activities in Azerbaijan, S. Patzer Ismailova stressed that, lobbying activities should be carried out in the highest circles.

Noted that, today, lobbying is very important for the realities of Azerbaijan: "Strengthening the lobbying activity is an important issue in terms of a positive solution of the Armenian-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict".

In conclusion, Doctor of Political Science Zaur Aliyev acted. He noted that, the Institute will open Department of Study of Science and Social Science Problems.

The main aim is to prepare a database of researchers send to Europe, as well as the development of proposals and collaboration.
