On June 10, Institute of History named after A.A.Bakikhanov hosted a meeting with President of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis – Samira Patzer Ismayilova.
In advance, director of the Institute of History corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov made speech on historical diplomatic ties between Azerbaijan-Germany. Each historian should do his best due to strengthening ties, and recognizing Nagorno Karabakh conflict and genocides committed by Armenians against our people in Germany, he added.
Speaking about the conferences devoted to the genocides perpetuated against Turkic-Muslim peoples in Shamakhy and Guba, scientist highlighted the relevance of scientific discussions carried out there in terms of revealing new historical facts. International conferences play a major role in reinforcing the ties among the countries, he noted.
Y.Mahmudov said that, in the years 1914-1918 the genocides committed against the Muslim population of Azerbaijan and Eastern Anatolia with support of the terrorist-extremist states, are the worst genocides in the history of the world.
Then, scientist drew attention to the publication of book “Irevan khanate", which is author of him, published in English and Russian, and noted that, German translation of the book is under prep at the moment. He said that one of the most important issues in the book - settlement of Armenians in Irevan khanate, a place which had seized by Russian troops in the XIX century as a result of bloody wars, was reflected by means of numerous archival materials, particularly in official documents – guidelines, regulating the transfer process.
Later on, President of the Congress of European Azerbaijanis Samira Patzer Ismayilova stressed out the activity of Diaspora at the scientific level. Azerbaijan is setting up academic ties via advanced scientific ventures of Europe in latest years. Institute of History should reinforce ties with German scientific foundations, the books, reflecting historical Azerbaijan truths, should be translated into German, she noted.
She also put to the fore the necessity of to mushroom the informative booklets due to strengthening promotion issues of Nagorno Karabakh in Europe, and implement events on current topic. Today, it is quite necessary the activity of lobbying and it plays a vital role in solution of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, noted S.P.Ismayilova.
Director of the Institute of Science History, Dr. History Maryam Seyidbeyli and Deputy Director of Science of the Institute of History PhD in History Jabi Bahramov were attended the event as well.
