Academician-Secretary of ANAS, Academician Rasim Alguliyev met with the delegation of the newspaper  "Poisk" of Russian Academy of Sciences, headed by the first Deputy Editor-in-chief Elizabeth Ponarina on June 22.

At the meeting, Academician Rasim Alguliyev noted that, in connection with the visit of delegation to Azerbaijan by President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh was signed a special order, according to which was compiled travel program.

Informing that besides Baku, scheduled to visit delegation of regional scientific centers of ANAS, Academician-Secretary expressed his confidence that the visit of the "Poisk" newspaper will be very fruitful.

Thanking the Academician-Secretary of ANAS for such warm reception, Elizabeth Ponarina noted that, the main purpose of the visit is to prepare material for scientific, scientific-organizational activity of the Academy, including the scientific and innovative activities in the regions and ANAS obtained scientific achievements.

Then, Academic-Secretary of ANAS responded numerous questions of guests. Rasim Alguliyev talked about multilateral cooperation of Academy with the Russian Academy of Sciences and the activities of ANAS Institute of Information Technology led by him.

Having noted that, this institute is engaged in the solution of problems of information not only Academy, but also the republics in general, the academician-secretary has emphasized that such questions as creation of the electronic state, ensuring information security, training, promoting of science, electronic science include the field of activity of establishment.

As envisaged applying of ICT in all spheres in the country life, in academic institutions and organizations the special attention is paid to expansion of this process.

Rasim Alguliyev noted that, to a common ANAS computer system is connected to more than 4,500 computers; through the use of advanced information technologies in the Academy constructed a common scientific network infrastructure, which covers all the scientific structures of the republic as a whole, held various conferences and symposia on the problems in this area.

Noting that, President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh pays special attention to the development of software engineering and software Academician Rasim Alguliyev told about organized at the Institute the School of young programmers, holding the competition and other activities in this area.

At the end of the meeting Academic-Secretary of ANAS and guests exchanged gifts.
