Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

The visit of a delegation chaired by President of ANAS Academician Akif Alizadeh, continues.

On June 23, a meeting was held by head of National Academic Council (CNR in Italian) and delegates of Executive Board. In a meeting were attended Vice-President of ANAS Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, Academician-Secretary of the Department of Earth Sciences, Academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, leading fellow of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics, representative of the Scientific-Technological Center of Ukraine in Azerbaijan Gulam Babayev, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Italy Mammad Ahmadzadeh, first secretary of the Embassy Erkin Heydarli, representative of Baku International Multiculturalism Center in Italy Sandro Teti, including President of CNR Prof. Massimo Inguisco, director of the Department of Earth Sciences in CNR Prof. Enriko Brunnoli, head of International Relations Department Ms. Virginia Coda Nunziante and President of Italy-Azerbaijan Trade Chamber Ms. Manuela Traldi.

The main purpose was the renewal of an agreement on scientific cooperation between ANAS and CNR, and discussion of the results of research projects, carried out between both parties since 2011. During discussions, were exchanged views on further development of cooperation among Italian scientific ventures and institutions of ANAS.

Academician Akif Alizadeh stressed out the necessity of enhancing the projects (“stem cells”, application of InSar satellite technology to the Earth science of Azerbaijan etc.) on academic priorities of ANAS, and charged certain tasks to ANAS Department of Earth Sciences.

Agreement of scientific collaboration was signed between President of ANAS Academician Akif Alizadeh and President of CNR Professor Massimo Inguscio, while agreement of cooperation program signed by Vice-President of ANAS Academician Ibrahim Guliyev and Virginia Coda Nunziante.

In closing, delegates of the both parties donated gifts to one-another and shot memorial photos.
