ANAS Republican Seismological Survey Center (RSSC) held a scientific workshop.

Professor Adil Aliyev made a lecture on “Mud volcanism of the Southern Caspian” at the workshop.

Lecture conducted some results of the scientific studies carried out in latest 20 years. It was noted that, a new morphogenetic classification of mud volcanoes was given. The new breaking structures and microblocks among them have been found. Activizing of mud volcanoes and a genetic link via seismic activity was discovered, (according to the gashydrochemical indicators), a seasonal mineralization of the breccias of mud volcanos and their geochemical characteristics have been studied.

Then questions to the lecture were responded.

General Director of RSSC corresponding member of ANAS stated that, Professor Adil Aliyev is being engaged in study of mud volcanoes over 50 years. He highlighted the necessity of young scientists to focus on this field.
