Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Employees of the Institute of Geography of ANAS were on a business trip in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic.

The expedition was organized on the basis of the "Biogeochemical regionalization and regional forecasting of public health of Azerbaijan" project, which was carried out within the framework of multidisciplinary scientific research ANAS.

The project focused on compliance with the laws of the impact of migration on the local population's health conditions eco-geochemical landscape in different regions of Azerbaijan, macro and micro elements, as well as their concentration in certain types of landscapes.

Within the project were carried out the expedition on the territory of the Greater and Lesser Caucasus, the Kura-Araz lowland and Lankaran-Talish zone.

During the expedition for carrying out the laboratory spectral analysis for the purpose of studying of landscape and geochemical and ecological features, in general, were taken the 65 samples of the earth, waters, plants and breeds.

On the territory of the autonomous republic were allocated 20 sites, characteristic of landscape components, differing in the geochemical features. Particular attention was paid to research on the ecological landscape environment and the surrounding populated areas.
