Scientific secretary of the Presidium of ANAS PhD in Philology Safa Garayev’s monograph “Mythological chaos: its structure and poetics” has been released.

The editor and author of “Preface” of the monograph, publishing in the “Elm ve tehsil” house in a grace form, is director of the Institute of Folklore corresponding member of ANAS Mukhtar Kazimoglu, reviewers – Dr. Philology Seyfeddin Rzasoy, Dr. Philology Ramil Aliyev and PhD in Philology Kamala Islamzadeh.

The monograph investigated semantic structure and poetics of mythological chaos in Azerbaijan folklore based on modern theoretical-methodological approaches. The research work defined mythological chaos and its cosmogonical paradigms, chaos semanteme in mythology and its manifestation levels, mythical-metaphoric symbols, resulting from the folklore creativity, including clarified specifications of chaos and space interactively on the basis of national folklore texts.

The experience of studying chaos problem based on Azerbaijan folklore is not come across until this monographic study. Though, underground world was paid attention at different levels in studies, this research work can be considered the first experience for us in terms of comprehensive and systematic study of the chaos problem.

New edition is intended for teachers and students of higher educational institutions, including a wide range of readers interested in folklore topics.
