On July 8, 2016, Seoul National University and ANAS Institute of Soil Elm and Agro chemistry has signed an agreement on conducting joint studies in the realms of mutual interest covering soil science, ecology, agro chemistry and land reclamation. Under agreement, with the purpose of developing relevant scientific research programs, remote investigation of saline soils, soil mapping according to the degree of salinity, Professor of Seoul National University Hee-Myong Ro and Dr. Junho Han attended the seminar at ANAS Institute of Soil Elm and Agro chemistry.
Event was attended by delegates of “Azerspace” OJSC and Aero geodesy enterprise as well.
Opening the seminar Academician Garib Mammadov spoke about the importance of collaboration between two countries in the soil science and expressed his gratitude for management of ANAS and SEBA (Seoul-Baku) Azerbaijan-Korean Culture Exchange Association due to setting up these ties.
Later on, Korean scientists made lecture on “Bilateral cooperation between Korea and Azerbaijan in the realm of soil salinity remediation”. Prof. Hee-Myong Ro stated that, the implementation of joint scientific and technological research in order to prevent soil salinity is relevant and is of great importance. According to him, the restoration of the lands is a long-term process and during this time we will know better Azerbaijani lands.
Lecture was discussed and questions were responded.
The guests also got acquainted with the material-technical base of the institute and performances of the scientists, operating here.
Korean scientists is expected to make tour to Kurdamir, Ujar and Khizi regions, including meet via scientists and specialists of Baku State University department of soil science.
