Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

October 12, the Presidium of the ANAS held a meeting of the Working Group at the Chairman of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Member States of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR).

Opening the event opening speech, President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh spoke about the cooperation between his organization and the JINR. Noting that the experience of the above-mentioned organization in the field of nuclear research is of great interest to local scientists, academician expressed his confidence that in the future this bilateral cooperation will be even more fruitful.

Academician Akif Alizadeh stressed that in connection with the "JINR Days in the Republic of Azerbaijan", dedicated to the 60th anniversary of JINR and the 25th anniversary of JINR with the independent Azerbaijan, ANAS will be held and other activities. He said that in the event that will last until October 14 along with Russian scientists will bring together about 50 representatives of the member states.

Next event continued under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Committee of Plenipotentiaries of the Member States, the head of the Nuclear Regulatory Agency of the Republic of Bulgaria Lachezar Kostov.

The event JINR Director Academician Victor Matveyev spoke about the organization headed by him. Noting that the JINR laboratories along with reputable scientists are also working young professionals, Academician added that the young staff is necessary for them to practice modern accelerators, reactors and devices. Academician Viktor Matveyev said that in this institution, which has a lot of support to member countries in their integration into the world scientific space, well presented and scientists of Azerbaijan.

Then Victor Matveyev made a report on the activities of the organization.
