October 14, at the Presidium of ANAS was held a scientific conference on the theme "Towards independence from Heydar Aliyev to Ilham Aliyev" and the presentation of the book "On the Road to Independence", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the restoration of the state independence of Azerbaijan.

Opening the event, the President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh delivered the opening speech "The time and modern development and science." Academician noted that Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation for the construction of a modern society in our country: "With great merit and multilateral activities of the Great Leader Azerbaijan fully developed, worked his way equal to centuries. Big economic growth, industrialization, development of science, culture and education, which are observed in this era, has always led our country and our nation forward. Heydar Aliyev's epoch is a strong foundation for the country's development."

Having said that, in the teaching of scientific factor of the National leader of the state has always played a leading role, ANAS President stressed that the main line of this teaching is the active participation of science in modern society development.

Academician Akif Alizadeh said that in the 90-ies of the last century, when the state independence has not yet matured, the national leader Heydar Aliyev with great confidence and firmness around the world said that the state independence of Azerbaijan is unshakable and eternal.

Having said that state independence is already a path equal to a quarter of a century, the academician noted that every moment of the way contributed to the accelerated development of Azerbaijan, enhance its credibility on the international stage, the development of science, education and culture.

Academician Akif Alizadeh expressed his confidence in the fact that our science and will then contribute to the solution of tasks aimed at implementation of the appeals of modernity, socio-economic, cultural and moral development of our country, the heyday of the independent Azerbaijan as a whole.

Speaking about the book "On the Road to Independence", dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the state independence, the head of ANAS noted that the publication tells the story of a responsible and glorious path traversed during this time, and obtained important achievements. Academician called this book a valuable contribution of Azerbaijani scientists in our state independence.

At the event, the Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli made a presentation on "Azerbaijani model of independent statehood." He noted that the formation of the model of development of independent statehood in Azerbaijan is closely associated with the name and activity of the outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev, and added that, as the chief architect of the state building of independent Azerbaijan, national leader laid the foundation for an important and brilliant stage in the historical annals of our country . The academician said that the difficult and glorious path traversed by great leader for nearly 35 years, the modern history of Azerbaijan, its historical merits, important results obtained in the course of its activities, form the basis of the Azerbaijani model of modern development.

Isa Habibbeyli noted that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev contributes to the further development of ideology Azerbaijanism, which is one of the fundamental principles of independent statehood: "The tradition of celebrating the Republic Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis, and the Congress of World Azerbaijanis deepen public awareness of Azerbaijanism principles."

Having said that, the line of strategic development, defined by national leader Heydar Aliyev held in our country today, the Vice-President of ANAS, stressed that, the Azerbaijani model of independent statehood reflects modern development based on goal and give real guarantees of a better future.

Then, reported State Advisor of the Azerbaijan Republic on International Affairs, on multiculturalism and religion affairs, Academician Kamal Abdullayev on "Multiculturalism and tolerance in the years of independence". Academician said that, the restoration of Azerbaijan October 18, 1991 its independence has created favorable conditions for further development multiculturalism and tolerance, which are formed in our country for centuries. Kamal Abdullayev underlined that, national leader Heydar Aliyev; his wise and farsighted policy raised multicultural tradition (multiculturalism) to a qualitatively new stage.

Academician noted that, one of the important activities undertaken by the state to protect the multicultural traditions of Azerbaijan, is a reflection of this matter on behalf of the great leader in the legal documents, including the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan: "The principle of tolerance, forming the basis of the policy of multiculturalism is reflected in relevant articles of the Constitution of Azerbaijan Republi ".

Kamal Abdullayev stressed that, the policy of multiculturalism, laid by national leader Heydar Aliyev and successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, today has become a way of life of our people, and thus the experience of Azerbaijan in the field multiculturalism and tolerance has become an example for many countries.

Also, at the event were delivered reports by the Director of the Institute of History of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov on "The initial period of state independence of Azerbaijan: from the state of confusion to the confidence and development," Director of the Institute of Philosophy of ANAS, Doctor of Philosophy Ilham Mammadzadeh on "The formation of political and ideological foundations of the independent statehood: Azerbaijanism", corresponding member of ANAS Ali Nuriyev on "From the economic crisis to stability, the construction of an independent state, reform and development", Director of the Institute Caucasus study of ANAS, Doctor of History Musa Gasimli on "Fundamentals of the foreign policy of independent Azerbaijan and the modern period", Director of the Institute of Geography of ANAS, Academician Ramiz Mammadov on "The realities of population geography: the dynamics of development, resettlement, resources and perspectives", Director of the Institute of Linguistic, correspondent member of ANAS Mohsun Nagisoylu on "Strengthening of language policy in the Republic of Azerbaijan" and Director of the Institute Architecture and Art of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Ertegin Salamzade on "New stage in the development of national culture."
