Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

On October 24, Institute of Archeology and Ethnography hosted a scientific session on “Archeology and Ethnography sciences during years of independence” devoted to 25th anniversary of state independence of Azerbaijan.

The event was opened by Acting Academician-Secretary of the Division of Social Sciences, corresponding member of ANAS Nargiz Akhundova, who spoke about history of independence. She said that, independence, gaining by honorable struggle of our nation for the second time in the XX century opened up new horizons for development of Azerbaijan science.

Director of the Institute of Archeology and Ethnography, Dr. History Professor Maisa Rahimova brought to mind obtained achievements in archeology and ethnography, supervised by National Leader Heydar Aliyev and his decent successor President Ilham Aliyev.

After the introductory speeches, Dr. Gullu Yologlu delivered her scientific topic on “The revival of spiritual culture during the independence years": "Heydar Aliyev and Kitabi - Dede Gorgud". The report was followed by a short documentary.

Then, at the event were delivered reports on " Development of Azerbaijan ethnography science", "Karabakh's ancient history, the history of the archaeological research", "Paleolithic problems and the results of recent studies", "The archaeological research of early agricultural culture", "Study of the archaeological monuments of the Early Bronze Age of Azerbaijan", "Ethno social studies in Azerbaijan" and "Archaeological research of Azerbaijan medieval towns".

The report noted that, the return to power of the national leader also had a positive impact on the development of the sphere of science, it has given a new breath of our independence. All this testifies to the fact that, Azerbaijan is one of the richest with the civilized and intellectual point of view of the countries in the world.

It was noted that, the wise policy of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, aimed at the transformation of Azerbaijan into a strong state, today successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev. In recent years, Azerbaijan achieved great successes in all directions.
