Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Science Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan joint with world's leading provider of scientific, analytical and source of information "Thomson Reuters", presented “Web of Science" Award -2016.

The list of winners was drawn up on the basis of Web of Science, leading search platform in the natural sciences, social and human sciences research. Analysis was conducted by experts from the scientific research and intellectual property department in cooperation with "Thomson Reuters and Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The highest prize by "Thomson Reuters" and the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan "For the development of science", awarded to the Baku State University and the Institute of Physics.

Prestigious Azerbaijani university and research institutions awarded the "Web of Science" Prize is following:

- National Aviation Academy

- ADA University

- Azerbaijan State University of Oil and Industry

- Azerbaijan State Economic University

- Azerbaijan Medical University

- Azerbaijan Technical University

- Azerbaijan Architecture and Construction University

- ANAS Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics

- ANAS Institute of Information Technology

- ANAS Institute of Catalysis and Inorganic Chemistry

- ANAS Institute of Petrochemical Processes

- ANAS Institute of Control Systems

- ANAS Institute of Polymer Materials

Scientific journals of Azerbaijan awarded the "Web of Science" are following:

- Azerbaijan Journal of Mathematics (which is published by the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics);

- Khazar Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences (which is published by the University);

- TWMS Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics (Baku State University, is published by the Research Institute of Applied Mathematics).

Although these journals were included the abstract database of Web of Science a while ago, drew the attention of the world scientific community for quality, impact of scientific reasoning to the country and abroad.

The awards were presented to authors of scientific papers, indexed on the basis of "Web of Science", published in international journals.

After the awards ceremony by organizational support of agency "Thomson Reuters" and the Foundation for Science Development by leading experts on science and intellectual property for the editors of scientific journals published in Azerbaijan was held a training seminar "Scientific journals of Azerbaijan-promotion to the international level".

The training-seminar held discussions regarding the formation of modern international scientific journals, internationally recognized scientific publications in developed countries, improve the quality of scientific publications, maximizing links to works in international abstract bases.

In addition, the training discussed the development trends of scientific journals in developing countries, and also gives information about the optimization of working in an international database. It is envisaged to holding of such regular training seminars.
