Today the Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS held an event dedicated to the memory of the great leader Heydar Aliyev, titled "Heydar Aliyev and library - a tradition preserved for generations."

Opening the event, Director of CSL, PhD in medicine Leyla Imanova spoke about the development of the library during the visit of the great leader in power. She said that one of the important objectives of social-political activity of the great leader was to strengthen the sense of the historical memory of our contemporaries, the presentation of the rights to their own language and literature, thus the formation of the heir to the spiritual wealth created by our ancestors as well as the true land owner. From this point of view the projects "National Digital Memory", "Wikipedia", the electronic cataloging and other proposals and initiatives concerning legislation for CSL create conditions for the formation of the community of readers and turning the library into the center of the academic community.

L.Imanova also spoke about President Ilham Aliyev’s steps taken in the field of improvement of libraries in the country.

At the event CSL staff made presentations. The presentation described the role of the new institution informational - Central Scientific Library in the protection of our national-cultural values, as well as the activities of the library, the corresponding responsibilities for certain libraries in many state documents.

The event also organized the exhibition of books donated to the Central Scientific Library about National Leader Heydar Aliyev. It was noted that 252 names of books, reflecting life and activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev are stored in a corner of the exhibition hall and the Academicians’ hall of the library.
