Azerbaijan National Library after M.F.Axundzadah and the Institute of Literature after Nizami was presented "Azerbaijan Literature the period of independence" two-volume book devoted to the 25th anniversary of Azerbaijan's independence on December 27.

Also was signed an agreement on cooperation between Institute of Literature and Azerbaijan National Library. Agreement was signed by Director of the Institute of Literature, Vice-President, Academician Isa Habibbayli and Director Azerbaijan National Library Karim Tahirov.

K.Tairov spoke about the significance of the book, prepared in two volumes under the leadership of I.Habibeyli and expressed confidence that the signed contract between the two entities will make an important contribution to the development of Azerbaijani literature and science in general.

In the new two-volume Academician I.Habibbeyli spoke about the emergence, development and current trends in the literature of the period of independence. He noted that, the book "Azerbaijan Literature the period of independence " is a literary and cultural jubilee gift to community by the Institute of Literature. The two-volume is the result of successive reforms carried out in recent years in ANAS.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Vagif Aliyev told about problems of Russian literature in the period of independence and progress made in the field of literature for 25 years of independence. V.Aliyev noted that, the publication will make an important contribution to the study of future generations of Azerbaijani literature of independence period.

In the first volume of the publication reflects the sociality, the theme of "repression", the realities of history, memoir literature, from realism to modernism, modernity in the works of writers, aesthetic trends, dekadansnye poem scenery, ideological and thematic innovations in the poems of 1990 and other highlights.

I.Habibbeyli brought to the attention of basic research in the history of literary science, informed the creation of scientific papers and publications in this field at Academy, beginning with the first years of our independence. He noted that at, the present time in various institutions of ANAS has taken important steps towards the development of basic scientific research.

Doctor of Philology, Professor Tehran Alishanoglu described the two-volume "Azerbaijan Literature the period of independence". Noting that, book reveals the originality, richness and uniqueness of Azerbaijani literature of independence period, T.Alishanogly stressed that the book in two volumes (1890 pages), prepared under the leadership of I.Habibeyli has a monographic character.

National writer Chingiz Abdullayev, Azerbaijani MP Nizami Jafarov and other speakers also talked about the broad opportunities created in the period of independence for the development of literature and literary criticism, and the significance of the new edition.

The exhibition dedicated to the Azerbaijani literature of the period of independence, aroused great interest among the participants.
