Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

January 24, at the enlarged meeting of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the rector of Baku State University, Academician Abel Maharramov was submitted a diploma of a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Prominent Azerbaijani scientist elected a foreign member of this prestigious scientific institution on the results of the voting held at the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2016.

Congratulating Academician Abel Maharramov with an honorary title, the president of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Vladimir Fortov spoke about the great merits of the scientist in the field of development of the Azerbaijani and world science. He said that Abel Maharramov - author of 54 inventions, 51 textbooks and manuals, more than 1,000 articles and abstracts, is the supervisor of more than 60 scientists.

Having a diploma and a sign of a foreign member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Academician Abel Maharramov expressed his gratitude for the high level of confidence.

On behalf of the Baku State University, Academician Abel Maharramov presented the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences a monograph written together chemists from Baku State University and Moscow State University. The monograph "Non-covalent interaction," published in English, translated into Russian Academy of Sciences, on the proposal and recommended as a textbook in universities.
