ANAS Institute of History after A.A.Bakihanov hosted a regular meeting of the Academic Council on January 25.

The meeting approved a plan of research work of the Institute for 2017. According to the plan, the scientific institution will be published three volumes of "History of Azerbaijan", "The history of Zangezur" and "History of Sheki."

Director of the Institute of History, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov noted that, new edition of "History of Azerbaijan" focuses on the study of our historical lands. He said that, Armenian state was first created in 1918 in the South Caucasus.

And the territory of the modern Republic of Armenia till 1918 was a historical land of Azerbaijan people, and it will go into the next edition of "History of Azerbaijan".

It was noted that, it is planned establish cooperation with the Institute of History research institutions in Austria, Poland, Pakistan and other countries.

Y.Mahmudov noted that, in April of this year will be held the 4th international scientific conference dedicated to the genocide against the Turkic-Muslim population. The international event, along with Azerbaijan, will be attended by scientists from different countries, who will speak about the deportation and genocide policy pursued by Armenians against Azerbaijanis, as a whole, the Turkic-Muslim peoples.

Director of institute brought to attention that, recently the famous Uzbek researcher Shukhrat Salamov underwent to pressure from the Armenian provokers because of the works "Turkestan and Youzhny of the Caucasus in the 19-20th centuries. Dashnaki: From Fargana to Karabakh" and "Karabakh: war of the ideas". The scientist reported that, the staff of Department of History of genocides against the Azerbaijani people of institute, having expressed a sharp protest in the press with respect thereto a question, distributed the statement in the Azerbaijani and Russian languages.
