Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On February 2, Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi held an event on the occasion of Youth Day.

In advance, event attendees and institute management paid visit the grave of well-known linguist-scientist, Academician Aghamusa Akhundov in the Alley of Honor II.

Note that, today Academician A. Akhundov is 85th anniversary. The youth commemorated their predecessor Aghamusa Akhudnov and put a wreath on his grave.

Opening the event, director of the Institute of Linguistics corresponding member of ANAS Mohsun Naghisoylu spoke of successful youth policy, the role of the youth in reinforcing statehood and independence of Azerbaijan.

2 February - Youth Day is associated with the name of national leader Heydar Aliyev in the country. Only after his returning to power for the second time, the youth policy has been established. On February 2, 1996 was held the First Youth Forum initiated by national leader, since 1997 by the decree of Heydar Aliyev 2 February begin to be celebrated as a Youth Day in Azerbaijan, stated M.Naghisoylu.

Then, chairman of Young Scientists and Specialists Council PhD in Philology Jahid Kazimov noted the formation of the youth, loyal to governmental aims, national, moral and human values, in the country.

In closing, a group of young scientists were deserved to the Certificate of Merit for their scientific activities. In addition, Trade Union granted some employees with “Appreciation” due to active participation in social life of the institute.
