Today at the Institute of Manuscripts named after Muhammad Fuzuli of ANAS the presentation of the book "Description of Abbasgulu agha Bakikhanov’s personal archive" by associate of the institute Irada Vezirova.

Opening the event, Deputy Director of the Institute for Science, Doctor of Philology Pasha Karimov emphasized the importance of the contributions Abbasgulu agha Bakikhanov made in the science of history, social life, and stressed the importance of educational ideas, spread them among young people.

Noting the role of the Institute of Manuscripts in the heritage study of A.Bakikhanov, Pasha Karimov said that the personal archive documents the outstanding writer, accumulated since 1934, is stored in the fund of the Institute. Currently A.Bakikhanov’s archive consists of 57 items.

Speaking about the merits of the book "Description of Abbasgulu agha Bakikhanov’s personal archive" P.Kerimov noted that the book describes the documents relating to the life and work of the outstanding scientist, poet, thinker and military diplomat Abbasgulu aga Bakikhanov, as well as articles written about him. The scientist noted that publishing in the "Science and Education", a new edition for the first time gives the interpretation and scientific description of the documents stored in the personal archive of the outstanding writer. Noting that the book is an important source for researchers engaged in the study of the life and work A.Bakikhanov, P.Kerimov congratulated the author on the publication of such a valuable product, and wished her success.

Speaking further the leading researcher of the Department of International Relations of the Institute of Manuscripts, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Akram Baghirov noted that Abbasgulu agha Bakikhanov, who was one of the prominent representatives of Azerbaijani enlightenment of the first half of the XIX century, entered the history of Azerbaijani literature as an outstanding historian, geographer, astronomer, poet and novelist, has an encyclopedic knowledge. The scientist noted that in the new edition reflected more than a hundred letters, notes, four archive folders, machine print book "Contemporaries of Bakikhanov", three instruments, three of the report, 23 scientific articles, 31 envelope for letters, 5 pictures and other documents.

In conclusion, the author I.Vezirova expressed gratitude to the organizers and participants of the event thanked all those who took part in the publication of the book.
