"Violent crime against humanity and civilization: the genocide committed by Armenians in Khojali" scientific seminar held

ANAS Institute of the Caucasus Studies held a scientific seminar on "Violent crime against humanity and civilization: the genocide committed by Armenians in Khojali" dedicated to 25th anniversary of Khojali genocide.

At the event Director of Institute, Professor Musa Gasimli detail informed about the Khojali genocide. Armenian armed forces heavy equipment, tanks and large-caliber weapons committed intrusion into blockaded Khojali from night 25 to 26 February, 1992. The scientist stressed that Khodjali Genocide - the gravest crime of the late twentieth century, committed not only against the Azerbaijani people, but of all mankind.

It was brought to attention that, on the initiative of great leader Heydar Aliyev, Milli Majlis adopted a special resolution on "Khojali genocide", the document outlined in detail the reasons for the accident. At the same time, we put such important tasks as to inform the world community the truth about the Khojali tragedy and expose the Armenian aggressors in the international arena.

M.Gasimli noted that, since 2008, on the initiative of Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva for the purpose of informing the world community of the truth about the Khojali genocide conducted a large-scale international information campaign "Justice for Khojali".

At the event, Deputy Director of the Institute for Science, PhD in Philosophy Rakhil Najafov, Head of the Department of the Caucasus Policy, PhD in History, Associate Professor Ramil Dadashov, head of the Division of Armenology, PhD in History Ziyad Amrakhov, Head of the Department of the North Caucasus, PhD in History Vasif Gafarov, head of the Department of Georgian studies, PhD in Philosophy Vahid Omar and others spoke about the grave consequences of the genocide committed in Khojali.
