The Central Scientific Library hosted a presentation of the “Jewels of the Rare Books Foundation”

Director of Central Scientific Library Leila Imanova in his speech spoke about the importance of the presentation of rare books of the Fund. She said that the purpose of presentation - to inform the public about the rich literature stored in CSL, as well as facts and truthful historical information about Azerbaijan. L.Imanova stressed that after the introduction of the 2016 CSL unified management system, and through routine electronic search, 17 of the most ancient books were found in the fund in Azerbaijan. Director drew the attention of participants to the fact that the first edition of "Azerbaijan history in the works of artists of the world", made up of works of art and documentary photographs of European and Russian artists and photographers are preparing for electronic publishing.

Head of Fund of Rare books Gulara Khalafova said that at this point in the Fund of rare books stored 15037 copies of literature, of which 759 books in the Azerbaijani language, published in the 30s of the XX century, 981 - foreign literature in English, German, French, Spanish , Italian, Latin, and 8759 - of books in Russian. The fund mainly consists of old books and books of special sizes. Of these, by the date of publication is the old book - published in 1508 in Latin, "Leonardo Aretino Reflections on Aristotle's economy", the author - Leonardo Bruni (Aretino - place of birth), Chancellor of Florence. The largest book of rare books Fund - (54x64sm) - Edward Stebing "The Holy Carpet of the Mosque at Ardebıl - London, 1893".

Am associet of the Rare book collection of masterpieces Leyla Alakbarli said that "Azerbaijan Miniature", "Coin collection of the Azerbaijan Museum of History" and "The coins of Azerbaijan" are considered masterpieces of Fund publications.

At the event, an employee of ANAS Institute of Literature, PhD Zakira Aliyeva, an associate of Architecture and Art Institute Dr. Jamila Hassanzadeh, head of the Department of Contemporary Ethnography at the Institute of Archaeology and PhD Emil Karimov, associates of New History Department of the Institute of History - PhD in History Fuad Taghiyev, Enver Mammadov and Ramil Niftaliyev stressed out that, they regularly use the library and expressed satisfaction with the conditions.
