Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

On April 18, a closing ceremony of the 1st International Forum of Caucasian Studiers, co-organized by ANAS Presidium and Institute of Caucasian Studies of ANAS, took place at the Central Scientific Library.

At the event, Vice-President of ANAS Academic Isa Habibeyli reported that, forum aimed to bring together Caucasian studier-scientists of the world’s various countries, lay the foundation for their mutual cooperation, and discuss scientific issues. He thanked to all scientists for participation at the event on behalf of Academy.

Then, Director of the Institute of Caucasian Studies Prof. Musa Gasimli made speech on works done within the frame of Forum, selection of lectures and its procedure. He noted that, all lectures of the Forum will be published in a book form.

The closing ceremony was attended by Turkish Historical Society President Professor Rafig Turan, Russian Academy of Sciences South Science Center President, Academician Gennady Matishov, Vice-President of the Georgian Academy of Sciences, Academician Roin Metreveli, the Chechen Republic Academy of Sciences President, Academician Shakhrudin Gapurov, an active member of Royal Society for UK, Central Asia and Oriental Studies Mikhail Baskhanov, a Professor of the U.S. Koastal Carolina University Christopher Gann, and others.

In closing, they have taken a memorial photo.
