Presented editions about history of Nakhchivan

Books dubbed “Historical monuments of Nakhchivan” and “Archaeological excavations in Kultepe (2013-2016)” were presented at the Nakhchivan Branch of ANAS.

Chairman of the Branch Academician Ismayil Hajiyev stated that studies have been carried relied on Order of chairman of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Supreme Assembly “On the protection and certification of historical and cultural monuments on the territory of Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic” dated December 6, 2005. Noted that, “Historical monuments of Nakhchivan” book co-authored by chief department of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology corresponding member of ANAS Veli Bakhshaliyev and a teacher of the Baku State University Fizze Guliyeva analyzes cultural-material samples dated back various ages.

Informing about “Archaeological excavations in Kultepe (2013-2016)” book co-authored by corresponding member of ANAS Veli Bakhshaliyev, chief of Archeological service department of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology PhD in History Assoc. Prof. Zeyneb Guliyeva, an employee of the French National Scientific Studies Catherine Marro, Remi Berthon and Savash Sarialtun, I. Hajiyev noted that, current book sheds light on results of studies carried out in the settlement Kultepe I.

Z. Guliyeva made a presentation on “Historical and archeological monuments of Nakhchivan are vital source for study of history of Nakhchivan”. Scientist informed about the establishment of local archeological expedition, and obtaining of precious materials in the Arabyengije village including in the settlements of Yeni yol and Kultepe I.

Director of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology corresponding member of ANAS Prof. Fakhraddin Safarli, chief department of the institute, Ph.D. in History Assoc. Prof. Asef Orujov and others reported at the event and highly appreciated the both books.

During the event, a video-slide, reflecting scientific studies in the Kultepe I, which dates back to BC VII-I centuries.
