ANAS Institute of Geology held commemorative event in associated with 22th anniversary of Khojali tragedy on February 24, 2014.

In advance, martyrs were remembered for a minute of silence.

Chair of Young Scientist and Specialists Council PhD in geology-mineralogy Orkhan Abbasov noted that though the tragedy is extremely large scaled and horrible, international community has still not assessed legally this incident, and the criminals have not been punished.

Speaking about the atrocities committed by Armenians in Khojaly 22 years ago,Gunay Allahverdiyeva, associate of ANAS Central Scientific Library noted that on the night, from 25 to 26 February 1992 including children, women and elderly people, 613 civilians were brutally killed, 1275 people taking hostage by Armenians.

Elshad Barat, associate of the Institute of Geology, poet-essayist noted the importance of keeping Khojaly geocide always on the agenda.
